Every year, we mark the occasion in honor of the Phoenix’s historic flight and that legendary first meeting between humans and Vulcans. It all happened—or will happen, depending on your perspective—on April 5, 2063.
That evening, the Vulcan ship T’Plana-Hath touched down in Bozeman, Montana, having picked up the warp signature from the Phoenix, humanity’s first successful warp-capable spacecraft.
Not long after, a Vulcan in ceremonial robes stepped forward, flashed the iconic split-fingered salute, and greeted Dr. Zefram Cochrane, the brilliant inventor of warp drive. That handshake kicked off First Contact.
